On 10 September 2018, the Verkéiersverbond, as European Mobility Week national coordinator, invited representatives from the press to attend a press conference about this year’s programme. François Bausch, Minister for Sustainable Development and Infrastructure, outlined the background to this international awareness-raising campaign that was initiated by the European Commission.
Mix and Move! This is the slogan for the 2018 European Mobility Week campaign. This year the theme is focussed on the idea of multimobility – i.e. how to combine different methods of transport.
The national programme, which can be found on mobiliteitswoch.lu, reflects the municipalities’ initiative and creativity as their programmes include mobility days, bike rides, electric car and bicycle demonstrations, presentations about mobility concepts and handing out croissants and coffee to people who use public transport. An extremely diverse and enjoyable week lies ahead for those who live in the municipalities which are taking part!
