This second TOUR du DUERF has once again provided confirmation that the number of people using bikes is definitely on the rise! The TOUR organisers – the Verkéiersverbond and Klima-Bündnis Lëtzebuerg – noted this increasing popularity when this year no less than 36 municipalities registered to take part. Over 150 teams were formed – with a total of 628 cyclists – and together they covered the memorable number of 99,239 kilometres – i.e. 2.5 times the length of the equator, and during this short journey they managed to save over 14 tonnes of CO2… by using bicycles, an environmentally-friendly means of locomotion!
