Harmonisation and digitalisation of cross-border and 1st class tickets

As part of the evolution of our services, we are moving the sale of RegioZone (RZ) and 1st class tickets towards simpler, more modern, and fully digital solutions. Our goal: a smoother travel experience, accessible anytime.

From 1 January 2026, important changes will take effect:

  • Single RegioZone fare for cross-border bus journeys:
A single RegioZone fare will apply to all bus connections between Luxembourg and neighbouring countries (except Saarbrücken Express coach). This will significantly simplify the fare structure for cross-border travel.
  • New CFL 1st class subscription:
CFL will introduce a single 1st class subscription, available as a monthly or annual option. It will be valid on all trains operating within Luxembourg, offering regular travellers greater comfort and flexibility.
  • On 1st January 2026, the mKaart will no longer be valid. Ticket purchases on buses or at CFL sales centres will no longer be possible.

With the CFL app, you can buy your tickets anytime, anywhere, 24/7. In addition, ticket vending machines are available in selected railway stations and at the platforms. CFL staff are at your disposal to assist you with this transition, particularly with the use of ticket vending machines and the CFL app.
