QR codes rolled out at bus stops to facilitate access to real-time information

The Public Transport Administration (ATP) is continuing to modernise passenger information services by progressively deploying new signs featuring QR codes at bus stops across the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Within the coming weeks, almost the entire national bus stop network will be equipped with this system, providing direct access to real-time travel information.

A simple, accessible solution with no download required

By scanning the QR code displayed at a bus stop using a smartphone, passengers are taken directly to a page dedicated to that specific stop. There, they can consult upcoming departures, up-to-date timetables and any service disruptions affecting the network. This practical and intuitive solution complements existing information tools, including the mobiliteit.lu app, and requires no prior download.

Designed to make travel information easier to access, the information signs clearly display the name of the stop, the relevant platform and the wording “Next departures”.

A coordinated roll-out across the country

To ensure optimal visibility, the QR code signs (20 × 20 cm) are installed at eye level directly on bus stop poles wherever technical conditions allow. The project is being carried out in close cooperation with the municipalities, which are key partners in its implementation on the ground. To support the launch of the system and encourage its uptake among the public, ATP will conduct a joint information campaign with municipalities over the coming weeks.

By making travel information readily available directly at bus stops, ATP continues its commitment to providing passenger information that is simpler, more accessible and ever closer to the daily needs of travellers.
