Harmonisation and digitalisation of cross-border and 1st class tickets

As part of the evolution of our services, we are moving the sale of RegioZone (RZ) and 1st class tickets towards simpler, more modern, and fully digital solutions. Our goal: a smoother travel experience, accessible anytime.

Since 1 January 2026, important changes have taken effect:

  • Single RegioZone fare for cross-border bus journeys:
A single RegioZone fare has been applied to all bus connections between Luxembourg and the neighbouring countries (except Saarbrücken Express coach). This significantly simplifies the fare structure for cross-border travel.
  • New CFL 1st class subscription:
CFL introduced a single 1st class subscription, available as a monthly or annual option. It is valid on all trains operating within Luxembourg, offering regular travellers greater comfort and flexibility.
  • Since 1st January 2026, the mKaart is no longer valid. Ticket purchases on buses or at CFL sales centres are no longer possible.

With the CFL go app, you can buy your tickets anytime, anywhere, 24/7. In addition, ticket vending machines are available in selected railway stations and at the platforms. CFL staff are at your disposal to assist you with this transition, particularly with the use of ticket vending machines and the CFL app.
