Presentation of the new workshop on multimobility education for pupils in cycle 4 of the basic school

On 05 January 2022

François Bausch, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mobility and Public Works, and Claude Meisch, Minister of National Education, Children and Youth, together with the Public Transport Administration, presented on 4 January 2022 the new workshop on multimobility education for pupils in cycle 4 of the basic school.

From January 2022, the Public Transport Administration, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth, is organising a workshop on multimobility education for teachers and classes in cycle 4.

This interactive workshop is aimed at pupils in cycle 4 of the basic school who will soon be attending secondary school. As the high school is often not within walking distance, the pupils are required to use transport. In order to make them understand the importance of public transport and autonomous mobility, the participants of this innovative and digital workshop will learn about multimobility in an educational, dynamic and engaging way. They will become aware of the importance of protecting the environment and their health.

During this workshop, which lasts two consecutive hours, a trained animator accompanies the students and follows the different activities with them. The emphasis is on interactivity through the use of an iPad, on which a film specially produced for the workshop is projected, showing two protagonists, Sarah and Max, discovering and exercising the possibilities of multimobility on their own. Wi-Fi at school is not a prerequisite, as the iPads are equipped with 4G SIM cards. The participants then go through an interactive mobility game, which ends with group work.
